Argyle 'Nuthouse' Pinot Noir 2013
Not Vintage Specific
“ Southeast facing, at 250-400 ft. elevation, the Lone Star vineyard is known for producing some of the best Pinot in the valley. On September 18th, the crew at Argyle picked the best blocks of Lone Star Pinot Noir fruit prior to the torrential rains, which was hugely important in capturing the rich fruit flavors of this wine. This impressive Pinot begins with aromas of black truffle, black cherry and raspberry. Flavors of cran-cherry, pomegranate, crimini mushroom and blackberry combine for this silky textured treat. This is absolutely beautiful Burgundian style Pinot.”
Wine Spectator 90
"Light and refined, this is open-textured and appealing for the raspberry, sassafras and floral flavors, dancing lightly into a long and refined finish. Drink now through 2020. 2,000 cases made."
Wine Enthusiast 90
“ Firm and focused, this lightly spiced effort supports its tart cherry fruit with ample acidity. Hints of toasted coconut build in the finish. A few more years of bottle age should bring further integration.”
It's better than any wine I've had that is not aged at least 10 years
