classy Syrah. This one, from a consistently excellent
producer, combines sweet, ripe black fruit with a hint of
bacon fat in the background to emphasize the plumy as
opposed to the peppery aspect of Syrah. Toasty oak and
gamey nuances add complexity to this big, but not
monstrous well-balanced Syrah."
