Wine Advocate 90
"The 2006 Toro was aged in French and American oak, 50% new. Purple colored, it has an excellent, slightly roasted perfume with notes of wood smoke, scorched earth, espresso, and blackberry. Full-bodied, fat, and well-endowed on the palate, the wine has gobs of spicy, forward fruit, excellent balance, and enough structure to last for another 8 years. It is a spectacular value in Toro that totally over-delivers for its bargain basement price. This is one to buy by the case. The Bodegas was started in 2003 and all of the wines are produced from estate owned Tinta de Toro vines, most of them over 80 years of age."
