Wine Enthusiast 93
"Barrel sample. A rounded wine, its tannins submerged into the ripe fruits. It feels soft, and there is just a bite of alcohol. The structure is soft, generous, opulent"
James Suckling 90
"Aromas of blueberries and flowers, follow though to a full body, with soft and silky tannins and a juicy finish. Delicious already. Best in 2016."
Wine Spectator 88-91
"The new wood is really showing in this, and at the same time plenty of ripe fruit. Medium- to full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a medium finish. Tasted twice, with consistent notes".
Wine Advocate 89
"Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois 2009 tasting in London. The Fonbadet 2009 does not quite have the delineation of the Fleur Peyrabonon the nose, but there is certainly good fruit intensity. The palate is medium-bodied with a sharp entry : dark berries, bay leaf and cedar, leading to a slightly clipped finish. Maybe further bottle age will benefit this wine. Tasted September 2011."
"The Super-Star consulting enologist, Eric Boissenot, who is also the winemaker for Lafite, Latour, Mouton and Margaux (and almost all of the 2nd growths) has been brought in since the 2006 vintage." ~Winery notes
