Rhone Report 94
"Even better than the brilliant '09, with more elegance and freshness, the 2010 Chateau Puech-Haut Coteaux du Languedoc Saint-Drezery Cuvee Prestige is a custom cuvee made by Philippe Cambie and Eric Solomon. An absurd value and a blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 5% Mourvedre, and 5% Carignan that's aged half in concrete and half in neutral barrel, it possesses a vivid, semi-opaque purple color to go with captivating aromas of raspberry liqueur, cassis, fresh flowers, sappy underbrush, and licorice-like qualities that simply soar from the glass. On the palate, this impeccably put together Languedoc has a pure, polished profile, with a sappy, resinous tactile sensation in its full-bodied texture, perfect balance, and a long, seamless finish. While no lightweight, it is in no way over the top and has real poise and elegance that is married to plenty of power and depth. While it has the balance and tannin structure to evolve gracefully for upwards of a decade, I see no reason to hold off." ~Jeb Dunnuck

International Wine Report 92+
"The 2010 Chateau Puech-Haut Coteaux du Languedoc Saint-Drezery Cuvee Prestige is an exceptional example of the quality and value coming from the 2010 vintage. This wine is loaded with really pretty aromas of black fruits, spice, fresh floral and some licorice and bittersweet dark chocolate. This is dense, concentrated and layered with new characteristics unfolding with each swirl of the glass. Everything is wrapped up with a luscious mouth-coating finish. This cuvee made by Philippe Cambie and Eric Solomon and is a composed of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 5% Mourvedre, and 5% Carignan."

"Today, Chateau Puech Haut occupies 170 hectares including 100 hectares of vines in Saint-Drezery, a small village 15 km northeast of Montpellier, in the foothills of the Cevennes and belongs to the AOC Coteause du Langedoc. In Provence, a 'Puech' means a small hill (or mountain), a 'Puech Haut' is a hill higher than the others. This position, 'on a hill higher than the others', is conducive to exceptional drainage for the vineyards. The clay and limestone soil is composed of boulders brought by the Rhone in the Quaternary and its plots reside on hillsides protected from excessive temperatures by the nearby Mediterranean Sea and winds including the Mistral, the north wine pervasive in the region.

This wine comes from the oldest vines, 60-75 years, and planted on a clay calcareous soil. It is a special bottling custom cuvee for Eric Solomon, made with Philippe Cambie for the US market."

Very Happy - Was recommended to me by a friend and I have to say I agree with his positive recommendation for this 2010. Complex, solid and ready to drink now!

Very good at this price - I'm a big Bordeaux fan. With this bottle, I was expecting a good, not great, French wine, but was very pleasantly surprised. The wine showed a complexity in color, bouquet, and taste I was not expecting, and continued to open up for several hours after being uncorked. Not sure about its longevity in the cellar, but of course Bordeaux has a great track record in this regard. No matter, this wine is ready to drink now, and at this price, is a very good, if not great, value. Enjoy.

3.5 stars - This wine is complex but I would only give it 91 points, not 94 like RR. Its good, worth the price, give it a try and write your own review.

What a bargain! - The Puech Haut Prestige 2010 is a super complex full bodied wine at this price. Lots of dark fruit and smokey herbal tones. I'm going back to for another case before they sell out.
