"Bright yellow. Fresh pear and tangerine scents are complicated by toasted grain, anise and white flowers. Plush and creamy but focused, with deep orchard fruit flavors and good mineral lift on the close. Stains the palate while maintaining focus and cut. "(Mar 2008)

"This is also a bit raw aromatically and difficult to evaluate but the rich, full, intense and powerful flavors are a bit more concentrated and very generous without devolving into heaviness or excess body as the firm acidity just manages to keep everything in focus and the pretty touch of minerality gives the long and sappy finish a slight lift as well. It?s a qualitative choice between the Alliance and the En France as the later trades more power for less elegance." (Oct 2007)
"Touches of candied lemon and bees wax speckle a core of honey suckle and candied taragon. Driven by lemon rind and pepper, this lengthy, structured white is lined with chalky minerality and ginger. Classic 'La Roche' 25 year-old vines in solid rock express the minerals in this wine." ~Winery notes
