"Not just Old Vines but Ancient Vines! This vineyard was planted in 1896. It had been given up for dead, overgrown, and neglected for 20 years when we bought this property in 1996. Production never gets much higher than about 75 cases. However the age of the vines is not even the best part. Yes, it has the wonderful brambly, old vine character, but the very best part is the balance of this wine's ? flavors: ?bright, juicy red raspberry mixed with a smoky plum and that great, old vine spice--ripe but never overripe, ?lively and fresh.
