"From Kimmeridgian sites around the hamlet of Chaudenay near Verdigny, Reverdy’s 2010 Sancerre Cuvee Les Coutes (which I tasted from the as usual unfiltered lot that is imported to the U.S.) strikingly divulges its kinship to Chablis: by way of scents and flavors of salted, herbed chicken stock allied to bright lemon and lime; not to mention an overt sense of chalky suffusion (however that sensation might be related to chalk soil – or not); fusil emanations; and the impingement of cherry pit and lemon pip. The upshot is a combination of richness and polished, subtly oily mouth feel with cut, invigoration, mouthwatering savor, and vibrant interplay of crystalline and stony mineral notes with citrus and chicken broth such as few Sancerres can more strikingly deliver than the best 2010s. Easily on a par with the 2008 I lauded in issue 190, this sensational value should give pleasure for at least the better part of a decade."

"The 2010 Cuvee Les Coutes from Pascal et Nicolas Reverdy is another absolutely
excellent example of the vintage, with fine mid-palate depth, pure soil inflection and lovely
raciness on the palate. The classy nose is deep and complex, jumping from the glass in a blend of tart orange, gooseberry, chalky minerality, fresh-cut grass, floral tones and a bit of lime peel in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and rock solid at the core, with bright acids, fine focus and very good length and grip on the classy finish. Good juice.
