"Donnhoffs 2004 Schlossbockelheimer Kupfergrube Riesling Spatlese offers an almost fiery spice to go with its aromas of distilled tiny-berried raspberries and blueberries. Somehow, the expression copper flashing comes to mind for this wine named for a former copper mine. The palate offers a liqueur-like intensity of berry essences with amazing density and finishing with claw-like grip and tactile pungency. A whole nother world from Norheim, isnt it? remarks Donnhoff."

"Though shy on the nose, this Riesling builds in intensity on the palate to a long, long finish. A creamy texture serves as a medium for its berry, citrus and vanilla bean flavors that come wave after wave. It's well-integrated and the aftertaste drips with citrus and mineral notes. Best from 2008 through 2020. (BS)"
