"Morgan has been among the most reliable Central Coast producers for as long as I can remember, so it should come as no shock that I've found another top-drawer Pinot Noir from Dan Lee's vast selection. This vintage of Twelve Clones delivers a slightly leafy character that I find attractive in Pinot. Lots of strawberry, too, with a spicy finish. An exceptional food wine at a very modest price, Morgan's Twelve Clones is the perfect value wine for Pinot lovers who may feel left behind by recently rising prices on their favorite libation."
Connoisseurs Guide to Wine 90
"Ripe, well-articulated aromas of black cherries are joined by hints of dried violets, milk chocolate and a light dusting of toasty oak, and the wine replays those clear and inviting attractions in flavors that are fairly open at the front of the palate but firm up appropriately at the back. Along the way, there is both concentration and a few rough edges, and this one cries out for several years of cellar aging even though it is ready for roasts and chops even now."

"Morgan 2007 Twelve Clones Pinot Noir (Santa Lucia Highlands); $32. The first of Morgan's 07 Pinots to be released, this is a full-bodied wine that needs some time in the bottle to mature. Not a lot, maybe a year or two, will allow the cherry, currant, mocha and cedar flavors to integrate with the oak and tannins."
"Leather, toast, minerals and vanilla, with cherry-berry, rose petal, cola, dried herbs, and some spicy/earthy notes, in a balanced and integrated style. Medium-bodied and broadly structured on the palate. The Santa Lucia Highlands typically produces wines of large-scale ripe fruit and a structured elegance. This cool vintage and the Morgan winemaking team created a wine with finely detailed fruit and a graceful style." ~Winery notes
