Discover the ultimate original taste of the Sangiovese grape variety!
Yes, this is the original taste of sangiovese grape as it is the closest vineyard from the place where the sangiovese grape is born (a few kilometers away from the "Monte Giovese" in Santarcangelo: "san" comes from "sangue" (the blood) of the Mount Giovese). This is an incredible wine which has a very strong personality of it's own and is made with the greatest care: best location, extremely low yields, carefully handpicked and 100% new French oak ripening, explains the huge concentration of this wine. The nose explodes in a firework of spices, tobacco, liquorice, black cherry, blackcurrant and cinnamon. Although it is stunningly powerful, the tannins remain soft, gentle and velvety, offering a full fat mid-palate and finishing with the typical freshness that offers the sangiovese and makes this wine so appealing. It is a very interesting wine because it can be compared with the best Brunellos from which it doesn't differ genetically but offers an other style due to the close location from the seaside that brings more vivid fruit and great freshness. If you compare these wines you will find in the Brunello's a more earthy style that is easily explained by the inside land location of the vineyards. So this Terra di Covignano is doubtless one of the best world sangiovese but also a fantastic wine for its Price/Quality and also its true and unique authenticity.
