At a blind tasting last week, Robert Parker tasted the 2011 Cabirau Maury Sec 'Serge & Nicolas' next to a number of high-end Provencal/Mediterranean influenced wines including Domaine du Pegau's perfect, 100 point scored 2010 Cuvee da Capo. Thursday, on the Bulletin Board at eRobertParker.com he listed both 2010 da Capo and 2011 Cabirau among the wines that blew him away, noting that "Capo sells for $450, Cabirau Maury sec for $25" and anyone not stock-piling the wine "has to be nuts." Parker's Wine Advocate colleague David Schildknecht had already penned an enthusiastic 93 point review calling it "pretty close to the most unbelievable value I can recall from a region where red wine values are legion."
