"Not much here to recommend it. Fruit is subtle, not much finish, no acidity. On the positive side it's a screwcap for easy, quick entry. The price is attractive, I use wine like this average down on a case purchase so I can not feel guilty buying a 40 dollar Chablis. Not sure where the JS92 rating came from. Best served really cold."
"This cava from Jaume Serra is Spain's big secret. A bottle of champagne method wine for less than ten dollars that actually has good qaulity characteristics is nearly impossible to find. It's a nonvintage wine that is consistently adequate from year to year with some upfront fruit and a nice champagnelike yeasty flavor on the finish. Not for New Years Eve or a milestone birthday, this wine is suitable for celebrating the good weather of spring, the first frost of autumn, catching three green lights in a row on the commute home, etc...."
"This malbec has been fairly consistent from vintage to vintage over the past few years. Not exactly a fruit bomb but great flavors of ripe plums and cherries with a little spice on the finish. We find this wine is best served with a meal; it's not interesting enough to drink without food."
"We've been drinking the Brocard Ste Claire since 2009 and each vintage has been reliably tasty at a price point that allows it to be a regular on our table. The wine has classic Chablis minerals, moderate fruit, and a nice finish. Tasted blind I suspect this one could be confused with a low end 1er cru."
"You know those nights when you want a hearty glass of red wine to go with an inexpensive grilled steak but you don't have any Barolo in the cupboard? Well just open a bottle of Revello Barbera when you fire up the grill. It's a perfect glass of wine for quite a bit less than twenty bucks. It's unctuous, heavy with red fruits, and gets better with a little air. I will be buying this one again."
"It's more and more difficult to find a tasty wine reasonably priced in the Maconnais, especially from good vintages. This wine does all that. Some minerality is evident with a delicate peach-like fruit flavor. Three bottles consumed over 2 months are consistently the same."
"We have bought the last seven vintages of this wine as our go-to lightweight white wine. The price is consistently reasonable from year to year and the wine is a typical Chablis village wine. Great mineral notes with no overbearing oakiness usually found in low-mid priced chardonnays."
