Item Description
"Color: Straw yellow.
Body: Rounded with a balance of flavours
Finish: Slightly sweet with a hint of smoke and malt.
Using only the finest Scottish malted barley and the purest spring water from the nearby Romach hills, Benromach is crafted by our experienced distillers. Checking each stage by hand they personally ensure that only the highest quality spirit is filled into sturdy oak casks. The casks full of new whisky are laid down to mature at Benromach Distillery for many years where our experienced distillers can regularly check them. Only when it is matured to our highest quality standards is it labelled Benromach Traditional. Benromach Traditional is rich and mellow with fruit and malty tones, balanced with a hint of smoke.

Without water
Nose: Citrus fruits (lemons & limes) with hint of honey and pine resin. Peaty malty notes in the background.
Palate: Smoky with cereal and malt flavours. Dries up with spicy/peppery notes followed by a delicate floral edge.
With water
Nose: Sweet, chocolate and fudge aromas. Floral elements and a hint of phenols (germolene).
Palate: Toasted/smoky flavours initially with a subtle fragrance. Some fruity notes develop along with an earthy, vanilla edge." ~ Distillery notes
About Benromach
Using the finest natural ingredients our 3 distillers orchestrate every second of the distillation process; there are no short cuts to perfection. We make it this way to give our whisky that gorgeous pre-1960s Speyside character: beautifully balanced with a light touch of smoke. Making whisky by hand is a rare craft these days. Here you can read 12 stories about how we go about it. Watch this film and Laura, Michael, Keith, Ewen and Stuart will tell you the story about how we revived this classic Speyside character. Pour yourself a dram, sit back and enjoy. Slainte!
