"A sensational Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey, this single barrel project is a powerful, pedal-to-the-metal, balls-to-the-walls style of bourbon that has been aged 10 years and has 45% alcohol, which makes it 90 proof. Seemingly bigger than that in the mouth, it is full-bodied with lots of caramelized citrus, maple syrup, smoky crème brûlée and cappuccino-like notes as well as terrific fruit from the fermentation. The wood is only a complementary aspect of this velvety textured, full throttle bourbon. It appears to be a classic."

Eagle Rare Distillery

View all from Eagle Rare Distillery
Eagle Rare DistilleryEagle Rare was originally a 101-proof ten-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey (not single-barrel) from Seagram created by master distiller Charles L. Beam. Introduced in 1975,[1] Eagle Rare was among the last new bourbon brands introduced prior to the current era of 'small-batch bourbons'. Eagle Rare has been distilled, bottled and/or marketed by a number of companies, including the Old Prentice Distillery of Frankfort, KY.

The Sazerac Company, an American family owned producer and importer based in New Orleans, Louisiana, and the parent company of five distilleries, acquired Eagle Rare from Seagram in March 1989. Sazerac's Kentucky distillery was then known as the George T. Stagg Distillery. Today the distillery is known as the Buffalo Trace Distillery.

Elegant, nicely structured.

Bob

Excellent!

"Probably the best value from Buffalo Trace Distilleries. It has body, spice, balance and a nice smoky finish. If you like bourbon, this is well worth keeping a bottle stocked - it can be hard to find at times."
