"Typically we would tell you No thanks, when talking about a banana liqueur. That it is until we tasted Giffards Banane du Bresil for the first time. Through a careful crushing and maceration of Brazilian bananas, Giffard is able to lock in the exotic and lactic quality of ripe bananas. Cognac is incorporated to add further complexity to this bartenders favorite, enabling it to pair particularly well with stirred cocktails in addition to the more obvious shaken tropical ones! Giffards Banane du Bresil smells of ripe banana with warming spices and heady tropical notes. The palate starts with creamy banana, redolent of butter and baking spices, with hints of vanilla and ginger, and blazed with oak-aged cognac."

The Spirit
Emilie Giffard was a pharmacist before he was a distiller. It started in 1885, when the scorching heat of the summers in France inspired him to create something that would cool and refresh his clientele. Using steam distillation of Mitcham peppermint, Emile created a Menthe liqueur that was as delicious as it was refreshing. Emilie promptly turned his pharmacy into a distillery and established the tradition and quality for which Giffard is known worldwide. Four generations and over a century later, The Giffard family continues Emilies tradition, using the finest ingredients and time-tested methods to create their liqueurs. Today, the care taken to create and produce one remains the same.

How It's Produced
Liqueur made from the slow maceration of bananas mostly from Brazil, spirit of bananas for an intense aroma, enhanced by a hint of Cognac.

Gold Medal with the score of 95/100 at the International Review of Spirits Competition 2007 organized by the Beverage Testing Institute (USA).

Silver Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2014.

The Distillery
Emile Giffard was a pharmacist before he was a distiller. It started in 1885, when the scorching heat of the summers in France inspired him to create something that would cool and refresh his clientele. Lucky for them (and for us), Emile was also a gourmand, and began researching the digestive properties of mint as he embarked on his endeavor. Using steam distillation of Mitcham peppermint, Emile created a liqueur that was as delicious as it was refreshing. Giffard Menthe Pastille, named after the French candies at the time (the name translates to mint drop), found instant popularity with the locals. Emile promptly turned his pharmacy into a distillery and established the tradition and quality for which Giffard is known worldwide. This was only the beginning.

Four generations and over a century later, the Giffard family continues Emiles tradition, using the finest ingredients and time-tested methods to create their liqueurs. Today, the care taken to create and produce each one remains the same.
