Item Description

"The world's best selling Irish whiskey, originally distilled in Dublin, where John Jameson, a Scottish Presbyterian, founded a distillery in 1780. Jameson's is now one of many whiskeys produced in Irish Distiller's highly versatile Midleton distillery in County Cork. The Jameson range of whiskeys comprise a comparatively high percentage of pot still spirit, which gives them greater character and complexity then some other Irish whiskeys. The nose offers an interesting combination of floral, orange, toffee, Sherry and spice notes. Water releases more cooked fruits and a suggestion of linseed. Initially citric in the mouth, along with classic Irish oiliness, more profound notes of Sherry develop, along with fudge, vanilla and spice. The finish is long, warming and spicy, remaining oily to the very end. Jameson is deservedly a world leader. Irish whiskey at its finest. "~Distillery notes

Jameson Caskmates IPA
Whisky Advocate 90
“Hoppy notes cloaking the crisp grains, green apple, and pomelo make for a happier marriage than its stout sibling. This is one of those whiskeys that continuously evolves in the mouth, progressing from a sweet, syrupy beginning of coconut macaroons, apple, and spices, to a creamier plateau of citrus, stewed fruits, and chocolate. It departs leaving the tongue weighted down with peppery spice and cooked apple. Unexpectedly delicious. Value pick” ~Jonny McCormick

Jameson Caskmates STOUT
Wine Enthusiast 91
“Beer lovers will enjoy this Irish whiskey aged in craft beer barrels. It appears burnished gold and smells oaky and grainy. The flavor evokes a pleasing combination of beer and whiskey, accented with hops, bitter chocolate and a clove-spiced finish. It even feels slightly fizzy, like the carbonation of beer. Top 100 2016.” ~Kara Newman

When John Jameson, a Scottish businessman,[3] became manager of the Stein family Bow Street Distillery in 1786, it was producing about 30,000 gallons annually. By the turn of the 19th century, it was the second largest producer in Ireland and one of the largest in the world, producing 1,000,000 gallons annually. Dublin at the time was the centre of world whiskey production. It was the second most popular spirit in the world after rum and internationally Jameson had by 1805 become the world's number one whiskey. Today, Jameson is the world's third largest single-distillery whiskey
