Since 1626, the Trimbach family has been promoting the history, exceptional terroirs and fine wines of Alsace. Maison Trimbach is located in Ribeauvillé, where today three generations work closely together. Day-to-day operations are handled personally by brothers Pierre and Jean Trimbach, representing the 12th generation. Bernard and Hubert Trimbach, the 11th generation (father and uncle, respectively, to Pierre and Jean) remain integrally involved. Anne, the eldest of the 13th generation, has just joined the Family Business. The Trimbachs have a purist vision. Across 12 generations, the family has always produced wines that are structured, long-lived, fruity, elegant and balanced: the celebrated Trimbach style. Bottles remain in the cellar for several years before reaching the marketplace, ensuring the wines are both ready to drink upon release but also hold great aging potential. Alsace is situated in the northeast of France. It is bordered on the west by the Vosges Mountains and on the east by the Rhine, which separates it from Germany. Its shared history between France and Germany has created a unique approach to the styles of the wines and cuisine. Alsace is a picture perfect region with rolling green hills dotted by medieval villages. The Route du Vin is one of, if not the most beautiful wine trails in the world. Maison Trimbach's vineyards are situated around Ribeauvillé, where the soils are mostly limestone. Their vineyards also benefit from Alsace's unique microclimate, where the Vosges Mountains protect them from the rain. Plantings are on some of the prime sites of Alsace, including top Grand Cru vineyards like Osterberg and Geisberg. Since many of the Trimbach's prestigious wines are from multiple Grands Crus vineyard sites, they are labeled by proprietary name. In fact, these wines, such as Clos Sainte Hune and Cuvée Frédéric Emile, pre-date the AOC Grand Cru designation (est. in 1983) by decades! These renowned wines are served in all 26 Michelin 3 Star restaurants in France, and can accompany any of the world's cuisines.
