The Maritime Wine Trading Co. is a family owned fine wine import and production company based proudly within the historic flat iron building at 222 Columbus Ave. in San Francisco's vibrant North Beach neighborhood. The Tasting Studio is our tasting room, business headquarters, living room, and spiritual home all rolled into one. For us, the name "Maritime" embraces the deep connection between wine and the sea. Since the very first wines were created in ancient times wine has been traded via the sea, and practically speaking, what we do today as a wine importer does not differ vastly from that of the first mariners who traded wine around the known world. In 2008 we started a small import company with just two wineries in our portfolio, Graham Beck and Jules Taylor Wines. From there we focused on growing a larger portfolio of family owned and operated wineries, and we remain continually humbled by their genuine authenticity and their high standard of quality. In 2012 we started producing wines ourselves in the Napa Valley with our very own winery, the Nine North Wine Company, and decided it was time to open a tasting room. Today in our urban wine tasting studio we directly represent a collective of over 30 producers from around the globe as well as from our own backyard. These producers, whom we consider part of the Maritime family, work tirelessly to put their unique wines in the bottle, and we hope that you will find the wines as delicious and engaging
