To walk through the gateway of Château d'Arcins is to enter into the historic tradition of the Haut-Médoc Crus Bourgeois: distinctive in style, reassuringly traditional, noble and powerful...
The Arcins vineyards were established in 1300
Château Arcins is a play of light and shadow – the traditional and the modern – and leaves no one unmoved. Its spirit is intriguing, its wines open and without guile.
Surface area : 101 hectares of contiguous vineyard
Varietal mix : 60 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 40 % Merlot
Planting density : 9 600 vines per hectare
Soils : Pyrenean gravel and clay. Deep soils allow vines to root more deeply, bearing a strong resemblance to Moulis, the neighbouring appellation.
Plot by plot monitoring : Oenoview satellite imaging gives an accurate picture of the vineyard and helps with tailoring cover-crops to suit vine vigour.
