Domaine de la Faviere is in the heart of the Côtes du Rhône Septentrionales, halfway between Lyon and Valence, that the Domaine de la Favière is located. It is more exactly on the heights of the town of Malleval, a small medieval village in the Loire (42). History:This is where the family business began, mostly occupied by fruit trees. Little by little, it began to align rows of vines on the steep and sunny slopes and has completely converted to viticulture to reach today around 10 hectares in AOC Condrieu, St Joseph red and white and Vin de Country. Here we benefit from a unique terroir and a very specific climate (Mediterranean type with fairly cold winters). The soils are hard and perfectly drained. Water is scarce there. This requires suffering and effort from the vine: The roots must descend to nourish themselves in depth and thus extract prestigious aromas. The Philosophy of the Estate: Our working methods are traditional so that each vine can deliver the quintessence of its fruit and that our wines keep a character and a typicity particularly appreciated. Resolutely turned towards a quality approach to the detriment of yield, we practice a reasoned management of the vineyard while respecting the balance between the plant and the soil (our phytosanitary treatments are moderate, we do not use insecticides and only organic fertilizers Our harvests are entirely manual and our vinifications are very traditional with a well-proportioned use of new techniques and the use of modern equipment.
