Maz Caz Costieres de Nimes Blanc 2016
(2)
" Hand harvested, organically-grown grapes, gently pressed and fermented in tank to preserve the vibrant fruit flavors of peaches and pears. The label depicts an oyster… go figure that is a perfect pairing! Still, this has enough weight to stand up to roast chicken and the like.   Caz translates

"Bright & Elegant! This balanced blend from the Rhône Valley is quite unique. Its light straw color with vibrant hues draws you in, and with notes of grapefruit and musky citrus, it keeps you in. On the palate there's an intriguing acidity and salinity. One cannot forget the pleasant tree fruit coming in as well, such as pear and peaches, making it an elegant and well rounded wine. Will pair beautifully with oysters and seafood of the like." — Teressa

Wine Spectator 90 "Charming aromas and flavors of apricot and yellow apple are emphasized by vibrant acidity in this off-dry style. Shows balance and focus throughout. Notes of lemongrass emerge on the broad finish. Drink now through 2020. 1,463 cases imported"  James Suckling 90 "Hard not to

"UNBEATABLE VALUEThis perfectly refreshing off-dry riesling shines in the glass with a mintish hue. The nose, with some mild tropical notes, is bright and fresh - like a just-bitten apple. Giant taste. Lots of fruit, mainly citric, with a touch of greens. Lighter body with pink grapefruit and granny smith taking the main stage. Wet slate works the background with hints of nectarine and ripe pear. Orange blossom honey elegantly mingles with all the citrus, and plays perfectly to the touch of sweetness. Great now, but would be a solid addition to the wine rack. This acidic beaut begs for a spicy or fatty dish." — Eric

Herencia Altes Benufet Garnacha Blanca 2015

91  Wine Advocate
Wine Advocate 91 "The intriguing nose of the 2015 Benufet is already developing a petrol-like note combined with the meaty white fruit Garnacha Blanca is able to achieve, especially from extremely old vines like this. There is also a faint peachy pit note. The palate is very tasty, it makes you

"late summer sipperIf you want to think outside the box, try this tasty garnacha blanca from Spain. Nice acidity like a Sancere with a hint of stone fruit such as peach. Perfect for this time of year. Any kind of shellfish should pair well with this wine. Enjoy this while summer is still here!" — Tim

Casa Castillo El Molar 2015
(3)
93  Wine Advocate
Wine Advocate 92-93 "I tasted a first tentative blend of the 2015 El Molar a few weeks before bottling, a very pale and delicate, perfumed and insinuating Garnacha. The bottling was finally delayed, so I didn't have time to taste the final version, hence the range of scores, which should be pretty
"Another Amazing Deal From SpainJumilla is constantly putting out incredible values and this is a perfect example. The body has elegant notes of red and black currant that with a subtle herbaceous spice on the finish. With just a little bit of aeration a gentle milk chocolate note emerges that brings everything together. This is a stunning wine and if it was from a more popular region could go for twice the price." — Mike

Grand Moulin (Barbet) Beaujolais 2013
(1)
View from the Cellar 91+ "The 2013 Moulin-à-Vent from Xavier et Nicolas Barbet is a lovely example of this very classic, low fat vintage, wafting from the glass in a fine aromatic constellation of sweet dark berries, a touch of currant leaf, espresso, complex, dark soil tones, pepper and a topnote
"A Fall Go-toAlthough often overlooked, Beaujolais is the perfect red for the transition into the cooler fall weather. Grown in the pink granite soil of Moulin-a-vent, this medium bodied red exhibits bright cherry notes as well as characteristics of tobacco and tanned leather. Tannic structure suggests that this wine shouls age well until 2020 but is certainly ready to drink now." — Jake
