" There are nearly 60,000 cases of the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate, a blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. It exhibits Bordeaux-like notes of cedarwood, tobacco leaf, blackcurrants, licorice and fruitcake. Although not powerful, it is medium-bodied, well-made, surprisingly elegant, supple and fruit-forward. It should continue to drink well for 5-7 years. "
" The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon has great texture and structure with a medium mouthfeel. There are aromas of dark plum, cherry, cassis, warm barrel spice, vanilla and dark chocolate. In the glass there are concentrated flavors of cherry, cassis, blackberry, plum, spice, tobacco and chocolate. "

Alexander Valley Vineyards is owned and operated by the Harry Wetzel family. Founded in 1975, it is located on Cyrus Alexander's old homestead.
The Wetzel Family Estate now grows fourteen grape varieties, on diverse sites stretching from the banks of the Russian River up onto the hillsides. Each grape variety is matched to a specific soil type and exposure. Vineyard Manager Mark Houser and Winemaker Kevin Hall work as a team to maximize fruit flavor in the vineyard and to create balanced wines that capture the grapes' varietal characteristics. Hank Wetzel oversees the vineyard and winery operations, and his wife Linda continues to oversee administration. Now the third generation of Wetzels has joined the winery. Harry Wetzel, IV is assistant winemaker while younger brother Robert is the National Sales Manager.
Fruity and delicious
"Great wine for the money. When I tried this bottle a couple of weeks ago I was very pleased. I had lost track of its origin and suspected that it may have been a $30-40 bottle. I was thrilled to discover its price and immediately ordered a case to replace it! The 2012 is getting difficult to find. Grab it while you can!"
