"The 2014 Chardonnay seems much more fruit-forward, with plenty of tropical notes such as mango and pineapple in addition to the telltale honeysuckle and white peach. It’s well-made, medium to full-bodied, totally delightful, and already exhibiting complexity. Drink it over the next 4-5 years"

“This is a rare example of a moderately priced California chardonnay with an excellent pedigree. The grapes come from the Sonoma Coast, an amorphous designation that can be meaningless, but in this case includes grapes from the superb Heintz Vineyard and the Green Valley region. Ross Cobb is a fine winemaker, and, while this is in the California style of bold fruit framed by toasty oak, it has plenty of acidity and no artifice. Bravo.”

The Vintage
We like to think of 2014 as the final installment of a trilogy of vintages. Each of the three vintages from 2012 onward were of course unique but they all shared some similar hallmarks such as relatively high yields, even bloom, warm summers, and very early harvests with little inclement harvest weather. The resulting wines from all three have been extremely enjoyable early with the balance and depth to age for many years to come.

This rendition of our Chardonnay shows our continued addition and refinement of vineyard sources. This still possesses a significant amount of our growing Heintz allotment as well as a new Sonoma Coast vineyard called Bohemian Green Valley.

Banshee Wines

Banshee WinesBanshee Wines and Rickshaw Wines were founded by three friends from the Midwest and East Coast who shared a passion for wine and a lifelong dream of owning their own winery. Their fascination with wine started early in life. While their peers were drinking Milwaukee's Best, they had an af?nity towards collecting European wines and hosting dorm room wine tastings. Post-college, each pursued a career in the wine industry, ranging from importing wines, to winemaking, to distribution and sales. When their paths ultimately converged in San Francisco, they shared many meals, bottles of wine, concerts, and laughs with one another. In 2009 they pooled their money together to make the ?rst vintage of Banshee Wines Pinot Noir, which sold out in three short months. By the end of the year, Banshee Wines was their full-time pursuit.

The Banshee guys are passionate about creating benchmark wines from California's iconic vineyards as well as crafting soulful blends that don't break the bank. When they're not making wine you can ?nd them preparing grand multi-course meals, sabering Champagne bottles, seeking out the nearest swimming hole, or dancing on tabletops. Classic guy activities.
