Belle Glos Wines

Belle Glos WinesBelle Glos showcases distinctive Pinot Noirs produced from California's most noteworthy coastal wine-growing regions. While each vineyard location lies near the Pacific Ocean, the climate differences are significant, varying with the amount of fog, wind, sunlight, and soil type at each site. Each Vineyard Designate is crafted to distill the purest essence of the locale into elegant expressions of California Pinot Noir. Owner/winemaker, Joe Wagner chose the name Belle Glos (pronounced "BELL GLOSS") to honor his grandmother, Lorna Belle Glos Wagner. Lorna was a co-founder of Caymus Vineyards, an inspirational figure to Joseph and an avid lover of Pinot Noir.

Not yer Grandma's Pinot Noir

"Yup yup! We've got some splendid Pinot here. May not be what you would normally expect from pinot noir BUT this is really a "beaut-meister". This does not have the delicate finesse the critics seem to rave about, rather, it has a concentrated, sexy, "slap-your-face" assault that seems to make the contents of the bottle disappear in no time flat. At this price, it's an absolute STEAL!!! Hmmmm... let's do a little math: you could buy 1 (one) bottle of 2012 Domaine la Romanee Conti for a paltry $12,450.00 or 345 (three hundred forty five) bottles of 2013 Belle Glos Alturas for the same price (about $36.00ea). DRC ain't $12,414.00 better."
