The 2021 Chardonnay Luminus comes from the Oak Knoll region and was barrel-fermented and aged in 10% new barrels. The goal for this cuve is a more vibrant, fresher style, and they succeed admirably, with lots of green citrus, honeysuckle, and chalky minerality giving way to a medium-bodied, focused Chardonnay. It's not lean, however, and has beautiful fruit.

Wine Spectator 91
Aromatic and intense, with preserved lemon, orange blossom, fresh lime and crunchy sea salt flavors, revealing Fuji apple and tangerine notes on the fresh, vibrant finish. Drink now. 990 cases made.

Winemaker Notes
On the nose there are aromatic notes of citrus zest and Asian pear, alongside delicate floral hints of star jasmine and honeysuckle. The palate is crisp and round with layers of lemon curd, white nectarine, and lychee fruit. Mouthwatering with a beautiful purity of fruit, this Chardonnay finishes long and clean with a fresh line of acidity. Underlying French oak character offers a light brioche toast while the bttonage treatment hints at a richer, more textured mouthfeel that is pleasing and inviting.
An ideal aperitif on its own, or pair with lighter fare, such as chicken and fish dishes or lemon and white wine pasta sauces.

Blend: 100% Chardonnay
