“Beyond wines are the second label fo the well-established Buitenverwachting winery in South Africa. When you manage to get your tongue around it, Buitenverwachting (pronounced bay-ten-fur-vachk-ting) is Dutch for "beyond expectation." Nestled at the base of the imposing Constantia Mountain, it’s just a few miles from the azure blue of False Bay. The farm’s history dates back to 1773, but in 1982, the property was extensively renovated and replanted, and now produces some of the Cape’s most classical wines. Beyond expectation, indeed.”-Winery Notes

Beyond WineryWhen you manage to get your tongue around it, Buitenverwachting (pronounced bay-ten-fur-vachk-ting) is Dutch for "beyond expectation." Today, however, locals lovingly refer to the farm as Bayten. Nestled at the base of the imposing Constantia Mountain, it's just a few miles from the azure blue of False Bay. The farm's history dates back to 1773, but in 1982, the property was extensively renovated and replanted, and now produces some of the Cape's most classical wines. Beyond expectation, indeed.

"A great light Sauvignon Blanc at a very good price point for the quality."

Terrific summer wine!

"I tried a glass of the Sauvignon Blanc in a restaurant and found it very interesting -- minerally and bouncy-tasting, perfect for summertime. I subsequently ordered half a case of it and have been very happy with the purchase!"
