"Aromas of prune, dried flowers, porcini and cedar lead to a full body, with velvety tannins and lots of ripe fruit and milk chocolate. Long and very soft, yet powerful. Sangiovese. Best after 2011. 1,250 cases made. "

"Bibi Graetz Toscana Testamatta: This is very concentrated with a beautiful balance and freshness. Lots of blackberry, mushroom and wet earth character. Full and dense with firm tannins, yet energetic and lively. Intense.
"A smoother, sexier, softer, satiny, succulent Super Tuscan does not exist than "Hot Head."
Separate vinification for every varietal with nearly whole grapes in open barriques, no pressing, and knowledgeable blending and ageing are a few of the secrets of the amazing Testamatta...having grown up around chisels and marble, the paint brushes and canvases of an artistic family, Bibi Graetz has transferred his creative instinct from his sculptures and paintings to grapes. His great insight was understanding the potential, still untapped, of the territory of Vincigliata in Fiesole, with lots of minerals on a clay and galestro foundation softened by sand. Separate vinification for every varietal left almost entirely uncrushed in open barriques, no pressing, and a wise blending and refinement are just some of the secrets of the amazing Testamatta - However, the series of wines made this year are so suberb that they cannot even be compared with the best offerings of recent years, which had already raised such clamor." - Daniel Thomases
