"The young red 2018 Vias de Gan follows the same philosophy as the white, grapes from a variety of vineyards in Laguardia and Elvillar ferment in oak and stainless steel vats followed by malolactic in barrel and an levage in oak of nine months. It showcases the serious and fresh style of the best wines from the year. It has cold fruit and a very fine thread in the palate, fine tannins, long and balanced, very fresh. It has depth and complexity. A very good wine, it transcends its price point, like an upgraded version of the 2016. 90,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in September 2020."

The Wine
Made from twenty-to-thirty year-old selected vineyards, this wine can be be enjoyed today, or one may rediscover it tomorrow. With a background of red fruit, the seasoned notes perfectly assemble and are highlighted with notes of oak aging.

Made from twenty-to-thirty year-old selected vineyards located in the plots of San Martn, Las Ventas, Paulejas, San Julin, Santa gueda, Castejones, Majadales, Ribaltayo Viejo, etc.

The Estate
Located in the heart of lava, Artadi owns 83 hectares of vineyards planted in soils with a wide geological diversity. Clay, gravel and limestone primarily compose this particular balance of nutrient-poor soils with varying microclimates. These unique vineyard sites give singularity to the wines, whose most notable qualities are transparency of fruit and finesse of tannins.

Red Wine of Value

"This is one terrific value. A wine of this character and flavor is rare at this price point. While this is clearly not an American Cabernet, it shares a boldness in flavor with a very good Cab. It also has the elegance of a Left Bank Bordeaux. This is definitely a wine to try and enjoy the flavors and enjoy its harmony with food."
