James Suckling 93
"Plenty of dried flowers, dark berries and sandalwood on the nose. Full body. Firm with silky tannins. Gorgeous. Drink or hold."
Wine Specatator 93
"This generous red is rich and round, with ripe tannins and orange peel acidity. Cherry, dried currant, licorice, vanilla and spice flavors are ample yet focused. A balance of traditional and modern styles."

The heart of the Rioja Alavesa
Proud of its winemaking tradition, the village of Elciego is one of the most famous and acknowledged villages of the Rioja Alavesa region. Behind the solid walls of its mansions, centuries of wine production wisdom have highlighted a vocation. Located near the river Ebro, Elciego has a distinctive contour, where the old part of the town lies in the shadow of the great church of San Andrés. It was here in the second half of the nineteenth century, that wine making commenced using the same process as is carried out today throughout the region.
