"Green-tinged straw. Fresh flowers, mineral-accented Meyer lemon, melon and an exotic hint of passion fruit on the deeply perfumed nose. Pliant and broad in the mouth, offering juicy pit and tropical fruit flavors that tighten up in the mid-palate. The floral quality repeats on a very long, penetrating, mineral-driven finish. Eighty-eight percent of this wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks, the balance in French oak barrels."

" Pear and apple flavors mingle with toast and mineral notes in this polished, modern white, which shows depth and focus, with firm acidity and a smoky finish. Drink now through 2017. 6,000 cases imported. " ~ TM
" The aroma is light offering fresh herbs floral notes. On the palate there are notes of grapefruit, white peaches, green grass and lime. Showcases a crisp, clean finish.
The wonderful Verdejo grape itself is reason enough for the existence of the Rueda DO. It is a somewhat rustic grape that has successfully acclimatized to the tough conditions found on the Castillian plateau. Verdejo typically produces wines of a greenish yellow, aromas of fruit such as pear, apple and grapefruit, bitter almond, aniseed and wild flowers.
The grapes for this wine come from 98.8 acres of vineyards, of which 94 acres are 26 years old and 4.8 acres are un-grafted 90-year- old Verdejo vines! All the vineyards are located in the town of La Seca, which is considered by the locals to be the “Grand Cru” village of Rueda. Eighty- eight percent of this wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks, the balance in French oak barrels. A perennial favorite! " ~ Winery Notes
Bodegas NaiaView all from Bodegas Naia
The history of the DO Rueda is irremediably linked to the Verdejo variety and precisely Bodegas Naia decided to settle in 2002 in La Seca, in the heart of Rueda, with the purpose of getting the most out of the original clone of the Verdejo.
La Seca is a town whose municipal area is mostly planted with vineyards and where the exceptional climate and soil conditions and the imposing old vines make it the perfect enclave to make some of the best white wines in the world.
From the beginning, Bodegas Naia has based its work on a selection of old strains of the native Verdejo, planted in glass and has always tried to get wines with the authenticity that gives a rigorous work in the vineyard. Precisely the vineyard becomes the fundamental piece in the elaboration of the wines of Bodegas Naia.
Turned into such a short time in a reference mark in defense of the Verdejo, Naia reproduces the model of the great targets of the planet, fresh wines but also large, tasty and with character
