"Rooty aromas of cola nut, baked berry fruits and blackberry jam set up a plush, jammy palate of solid tannic framework. Baked berry, dark plum and loamy notes end with meaty, roasted flavors that are typical of a well-made wine from Jumilla. This is 60% Monastrell, 25% Tempranillo and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon."~MS

EMPIRE STAFF REVIEW

What a standout!

"The talent of standout Spanish blends, are that they will knock you right out of your seat! Without a doubt, that is what we have in this 2010 Casa de la Ermita. In the glass, the wine possesses a beautiful shade of dark ruby and is able to effortlessly pack aromatic notes of blackberry, raspberry & pepper into each glass. This Crianza is a well balance of Monastrell, Tempranillo & Cabernet Sauvignon, which gives it a medium to heavy body feel with a lingering velvety finish. It's safe to say that this is a easy drinker and will appeal to fans of Spanish red blends. What a steal for under $15!"

A delicious value

"Perfect amount of black fruit with a hint of spice made this more than worth the money. Would definitely buy another."

Perfect red for before dinner and with light cuisine.

"This is not a hit you in the stomach red. I like those, but not for casual consumption. This is very good for sharing with friends, very much like the wine served at good tapas bars in St. Sebastian, Spain. Balanced, mildly tannic."

A disappointment.....

"I gave this wine as a gift to several associates before I tried it.....a mistake! I thought the bottle I opened was an anomaly, as I could taste a smooth, well rounded Crianza in the background all but dominated by a cork taste that was overwhelming. Two associates also commented on this lost potential...this is a first after many years of dealing with Empire......"
