Wood smoke, spice box, incense, lavender, black cherry and plum aromas are followed by a mouthwatering round, dense wine with outstanding grip and length. It over delivers in a big way. Drink it over the next 6-8 years.
The Cariena and Garnacha vines used
for the production of this wine have an
approximate age ranging from 35 to 50
years. The vineyards of Garnacha are in
the area of Cornudella de Montsant,
around 2,000 ft in altitude, and on slate
soils. The Cariena vineyards are located
in the Darms and Masroig area and are
on clay soils. The Syrah vineyards are
located on limestone soils.
Celler Can BlauView all from Celler Can Blau
Cellers Can Blau, founded in 2003, is one of the oldest projects of the Gil Family in Jumilla. Placed in El Molar, in the D.O. Montsant, this winery is the most diverse project regarding the grape varieties and the type of soils. The D.O. Montsant is nowadays releasing at its best the enological quality of its wines. Differently from its illustrious adjacent D.O. Priorato, in D.O. Montsant we work with unique varieties such as Cariñena or Mazuelo and Grenache, planted in and adapted to different types of soils. Nuria López Sarroca is the person in charge of the technical direction of the Winery.
