"In this rich, full wine, impressive fruits and structure work together. It feels weighty, concentrated and tannic while also having layers of juicy ripe black currant fruits."

First references to Château Bel Air are found in the 15th century. The
ancient origins of this property date back to the first hours of Médoc
wine history. After several years of disputes, this "cru" was divided.
In 1980, Henri Martin became the owner of the estate. The vineyard,
facing the Gironde River, is located on a rich soil, which routinely
gives generous character, intensity of fruit, and good color to the
Soil: gravel rises over a mainly blue-clay subsoil.
Surface: 34 hectares
Location: The vineyard is located in Cussac-Fort-Médoc, near Saint-Julien
de Beychevelle.
Average age of the vineyard: 30 years
Grape varieties: 75% Cabernet Sauvignon / 23% Merlot / 2% Cabernet
Manual harvest. Classical vinification in thermo-regulated stainless steel
vats. Ageing for 12 months in barrels, with 25% new barrels.
Brilliant colour with garnet highlights. Generous and deep wine with
blackberry and blackcurrant aromas. Notes of licorice strengthened by fine
and round tannins. The finish is persistent, on the fruit with wood and
vanilla notes.
