"Wonderful aromas of ripe fruit that are deep and delicious. Hints of walnuts and meats. Full body, with soft tannins and a juicy, velvety textured finish. Lots going on here. Delicious already but better in 2017."

"Bright ruby. Knockout, intensely aromatic nose combines ripe red cherry, raspberry liqueur and cinnamon aromas, nicely lifted by bay leaf and floral notes. Then pure and precise on the palate, with excellent verve to the spicy red berry and ripe red cherry fruit flavors. Finishes clean and long, with peppery, chocolatey, polished tannins. The best Jean Faure yet: the presence of malbec on the nose is obvious, adding an attractive aromatic component without any of the rustic notes that can be associated with this variety. When I visited Bordeaux in the summer of 2010, I noted that this estate's vines had no yellow leaves at all, and the wine demonstrates this lack of stress."~Ian D'Agata

"This is classy, with a lovely caressing feel to the plum, fig and black cherry fruit, which has melded nicely already with smoldering tobacco, lightly singed cedar and black tea notes. Offers a flash of loam through the finish. Best from 2014 through 2024."

"Bought by Olivier Decelle in 2004 (Mas Amiel). Next to Cheval Banc but needed recuperation. 50% Cabernet Franc. Very sweet start with fine delineation and with very much its own character. Terroir speaks more than oenologist. Subtle and very fresh but not forced. Lots there. A second note reads: Light and fresh. Very much unforced sweet and racy wine. Transparent and with apparently less tannin than most Derenoncourt 2010s."
"54% Cabernet Franc in the blend. Fresh, lifted, floral, fruity nose. Tasty palate. Caressing texture. Fine, elegant tannins."
