Chateau Leoville-Barton St. Julien 2010 - Color, very dark, inky, dark beep ruby color. Nose, blackberries, blueberries, hint of rose petals in the background complimenting the bouquet of the wine, very nice complexity, rich (though it fads away considerably fast!), some pencil shavings come along mildly, however, the wine is very closed. Midpalate, big, bold, hints of violets, crushed blackberries, full bodied. Finish, strong tannins (almost harsh), round, well balanced, lingering, 45+ seconds and I still taste the wine. Overall, this is a very solid bottle of wine, Bordeaux classic of a superb vintage, though it is not offering its best until 2035. Is it a 100 pointer? Absolutely it is not! But that does not mean it is not a superb wine. It is too young to enjoy now. Drink 2025-2035. I am 94+ on this effort. I can see it go up to 96 in 20 years. It has that potential. Happy drinking!
