"A rare bargain from the prestigious St.-Émilion region, this is merlot from a Bordeaux point of view. As with all good Bordeaux, this is a refreshing drink of wine. At first it’s a bit tight, but with time in the glass it becomes quite floral, with firm tannins, focused and linear. It’s not an aperitif wine; drink it with food."~Eric Asimov

"(100% Merlot) Red fruit, plum, earth and hints of mocha greet the nose and follow through on the palate, with medium-body, silky tannins and a nice mineral-tinged finish. An exceptional value in Right Bank Bordeaux, the Chateau Milon Cuvee Caprice totally overdelivers at this price point!"~Distributor Notes

Chateau Milon

View all from Chateau Milon
Chateau Milon"In the capable hands of Alexia and Pierre Bouyer, the estates of Close de la Cure and Château Milon represent more than seven generations of viticultural heritage. With the purchase of 4.5 additional hectares in 2008, situated on superb gravel terroir, the estate increased to 18 hectares. A portion of the vines for Château Milon's Cuvée Caprice are situated at the base of the Saint Christophe des Bardes slope and the rest lie on the gravel soils of Saint Sulpice. While the average vine age is 30 years, it is believed that vines were planted on the plateau in the Middle Ages. The vineyards are densely planted at 6600-9000 vines per hectare and there is a diverse array of soils dominated by sand, sandstone and clay. The Bouyer family is committed to farming ecologically with great respect for the terroir. We were thrilled to discover this exceptional value in red Bordeaux. It is a pleasure to add the Chateau Milon Cuvée Caprice to our long list of wines that truly over deliver."
