Robert Parker 93
"The 2012 Yaso is 100 Tinta de Toro aged six months in French oak. It boasts a dense ruby/purple color as well as a big, sweet perfume of blackberries, white chocolate, licorice and graphite. Full-bodied and opulent, it offers a fresh, full, exuberant mouthful of red wine with some minerality as a result of the high-elevation limestone soils from which the grapes emerge. It should drink well for a minimum of 4-5 years."

"Yaso is a wine of Tinta de Toro variety that has stayed in French oak barrel for 6 months. Its vineyards are older than 40 years and are located in the South East of the Zamora province on soft undulations and sandy texture with dun colour. Winemaking tradition in Toro shire dates back even before the Roman domination, more than 2,000 years ago. Yaso in Greek mithology is a healing goddess." ~Winery Notes

Compania Vinedos Iberian

Compania Vinedos IberianCompañía de Vinos del Atlántico (CVA) was founded in 2002 with the purpose of uniting the winemaking heritage of Alberto Orte and Patrick Mata's families. Both of their families have been producing wine, independently, throughout Spain since the late 1800s.

CVA currently produces wines in 18 different appellations within the Iberian Peninsula. The goal of CVA is to handcraft "elaborar" wines that express the identity of the place where they come from. Throughout the years, CVA has been searching for great vineyard-sites which produce consistently superior wines compared to neighboring vineyards.

Identifying indigenous varieties from old vines in high elevation vineyards tended in low yielding balanced soil is our primary compass in selecting the raw material we use to handcraft our fine wines.

A Wonderful 93 Point Sipper

"Robert Parker was spot on when he granted this delicious wine a 93. In the glass the wine is deep purple with beautiful aromas of ripe blueberries. In the mouth light tannins are balanced by bitter dark chocolate, dark fruits and currents with subtle hints of raspberries on it's lingering finish. A truly amazing wine for under $15."

A decent wine that represents a good value

"A pleasant wine expressing a nice balance between black fruit and minerality. Soft tannins, a pleasing mouth feel and a gentle finish. Improves if decanted or if you take the trouble to work it in the glass. Pairs nicely with a broad range of foods"
