"The 2021 Pre Jourdan bottling from Melanie and Daniel Bouland is another simply outstanding young Morgon. There is a lovely sense of sappiness to the nose here that is quite rare in this vintage, with scents of black cherries, sweet dark berries, dark soil tones, gamebird, espresso, peonies and woodsmoke wafting from the glass. On the palate the wine is pure, full- bodied, focused and complex, with a rock solid core of sappy fruit, great mineral undertow and grip, ripe, buried tannins and a long, tangy and complex finish..."

Wine Advocate 92
"One of the last cuvées to be bottled this year was the 2021 Morgon Pré Jourdan, an impressive effort redolent of raspberries, cherries, sweet spices, rose petals and vine smoke. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it's layered and charming, with attractive balance and a long, expansive finish... Daniel Bouland has turned out another very successful set of wines in this challenging vintage, which has delivered a cooler, brighter, lower-alcohol style, rendered with all the concentration and plenitude one has come to expect from this address. Bouland reported that fermentations went quickly, so macerations were a touch shorter than in recent years. As usual, maturation was in foudre and tank, and several cuvees had only been bottled a few weeks before my visit. This estate continues to represent a reference point for the Beaujolais, and everything reviewed here comes warmly recommended." - The Wine Advocate, 8/04/22

Sustainably-Farmed. 100% old vine Gamay. Daniel Bouland is a great producer of old-fashioned Morgon. From less than 7 hectares of old vines in the Douby, Cte de Py, and Delys, lieux of Morgon, plus small parcels in Chiroubles and Cte de Brouilly, he makes wines that can age 20 years, and are comparable to fine Cte de Nuits Burgundies. His Corcellette Morgon vineyard is 60-75 year old vines. De Lys, between Corcellette and Ville Morgon, was planted in 1926. In 2014 he acquired another old vines parcel, Bellevue, on a foundation of schiste and granite. All his grapes are hand-harvested and vinified with full clusters in order to extract all the organoleptic qualities. All his bottlings are unfiltered.
