There's a light bubblegum accent upfront, but it quickly subsides to reveal more central notes of watermelon rind and citrus zest. The palate is nicely balanced and harmonious, with ample acidity and bright red-berry flavors that have good staying power. The medium-length finish is bright and tasty, with a mouthwatering flourish of fresh citrus and tart strawberry flavor. - LB

“DMZ is DeMorgenzon’s value label, where the objective is to produce classic, elegant, well-balanced wines which over-deliver in terms of quality for price. This crowd-pleasing rosé reveals alluring aromas and fresh flavors of cherries and strawberries, accented with delicate floral nuances. It closes with a refreshingly crisp, dry finish.
Blend: 29% Syrah, 19% Grenache Noir, 20% Cinsault, 20% Mourvedre, 10% Viognier, 3% Durif, and 2% Roussanne.”-Winemaker’s Notes

“De Morgenzon is Dutch for "the morning sun," a fitting name for this boutique property high on the Stellenboschkloof, which is the first to be touched by the rising sun's rays. De Morgenzon's high altitude vineyards command sweeping views of Table Mountain and Cape Point, where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet. Embracing the philosophy that a biodiverse and ecologically sensitive environment produces infinitely better grapes, proprietors Wendy and Hylton Appelbaum have established De Morgenzon as a 91 hectare garden interspersed with 55 hectares of carefully tended vineyards, where abundant wildflowers flourish between the vines. The vineyards are currently farmed naturally, and the estate is in the process of converting to organic farming.”-Winery Notes

DeMorgenzon DMZ 2016 Cabernet Rose

"After visiting the winery, we developed an appreciation of their wines. We ordered a case of the Rose for Summer. After drinking 2 of the bottles, we decided to order a second case. Great wine at a very modest price. The perfect Summer "vin de porch". Enjoy!!!"
