"The 2011 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is a drop-dead gorgeous beauty. Dark, sensual and totally inviting, the 2011 is laced with dark red and black stone fruit, cloves, leather and licorice. This silky, supple Vino Nobile is a great choice for drinking over the next 5-7 years, perhaps beyond. The style is ripe, forward and juicy. - vinousmedia.com (October 2014)"

"The 2011 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano opens to a dark, brooding appearance and dark saturation. This is a meaty and muscular expression of Sangiovese with dark veins of blackberry and black currant followed by spice, tar, saddle leather and moist tobacco. There’s a broad opulence to this wine, especially in the way it glides thickly over the palate. This Vino Nobile needs a year or two of extra bottle aging to flesh out further."

"Dark berry, chocolate, hints of walnuts and some hazelnut skin. Full body, silky tannins and a juicy finish. Savory, too. Always outstanding. Drink or hold"

"A savory style, boasting eucalyptus, sage and woodsy flavors, with rich cherry fruit. Firm tannins guard the finish, but this comes together with air. - Spectator (October 2014)"
" The 2011 Vino Nobile Montepulciano is a blend of 90% Prugnolo gentile, the Sangiovese clone native to Montepulciano, and 10% Canaiolo nero. The vineyards are planted on tufa soils at a South/South-West exposure in the Bossona and Martiena Crus, and range from 40 to 15 years in age. This Vino Nobile is aged in large oak casks for 24 months and cellared in the bottle for 6 months before release. " ~ Winery notes
The vineyards, on the slopes below the picturesque town of Montepulciano, extend over 52 hectares and are divided mainly between the crus of Martiena and Bossona. The Vino Nobile Riserva Bossona, which comes entirely from the best positions in that Cru, is considered one of the best expressions of the Montepulciano terroir. All it takes is a taste of these wines to know that they are the epitome of quality for the region.
