Flash’s tenth birthday gift. That’s 70 dog years – quite a wait! A blend of 62% Merlot, 35% Cab, and 4% Syrah and Petite Sirah. Our good friend, Sally Rae, did the original oil painting of Flash. Despite the dominance of velvety Merlot, the wine required a full year of bottle aging before truly opening up and showing off its pizzazz.

Notes: Aromas of violet and chocolate-covered cherries, with hints of clove and ginger give way to a juicy mouth feel, a lush mid-palate with solid tannins carrying through to the end, finalized by a mineral (stone) finish.

Wine Spectator 87
"Offers up complexity and intensity to the black currant, mineral and dried herb flavors. Firm structure and a wash of cedary oak accent solid greenish tannins on the finish. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Petite Sirah. Drink now through 2009. 1,200 cases made."
