Item Description
James Suckling 92
Blackcurrants and blackberries with mint and fresh herbs on the nose. Medium-bodied, with firm, chewy tannins that give structure and tension. Drinkable now, but better after 2021.
VINIFICATION:
Hand picking with small crates, cooling in cold room, handed double sorting. No crushing. Entirely gravity-operated process. Gentle extractions with fractional pumping over; slow, fermentation kinetics at low temperatures. Temperature-controlled stainless steel vats (isolated with a double jacket). Unique in South America! Ageing in French oak with 50 of new oak.
TASTING NOTES:
Intense ruby color, fresh and deep aromas of black fruits and a mouthfeel of the typical voluptuous body of this variety, at the same time kind and sophisticated.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS:
Ideal with game, seasoned red meat, or simply a good selection of fine cheese.
BODEGA DIAMANDES:
In 2005, the Bonnie family, owner of renowned Chteau Malartic-Lagravire (Grand Cru Class Pessac Lognan), decided to leave France in search of new horizons in the world of wine.
It all began with the acquisition of a single 130 hectare block of land in the heard of the Uco Valley, to the south of the city of Mendoza. That is where Bodega was born. The winery's architectural design blends harmoniously into the stunning Andean scenery. In this context the winemaking process has taken place under exceptional conditions since the 2007 vintage.
By the Andes Mountains, Bodega DiamAndes boasts an ideal terroir: temperate climate due to the altitude and that together with its sandy-clay soils with large amounts of rock, allow Malbec, Argentina's king varietal to fully express itself.
