"From two parcels on sandstone and limestone soils (next to the Saering Muscat parcel), the 2014 Riesling Grand Cru Saering was picked in two steps, one parcel was picked in the middle of the harvest, the other one in the end, so two weeks later. The wine opens with a very clear and subtle nose of ripe seed fruits intertwined with stony and herbal flavors. On the palate this is a melting rock, a great ripe and well-defined Riesling with great purity, finesse and elegance. It is truly piquant and salty, full of tension and fine Riesling fruit that is intense and ripe, but by no means sweeping. Just the contrary, this is ripeness and concentration combined with purity and style. A great Riesling that reminds me of the granite Rieslings of Albert Boxler."
