Allen Meadows 91-94
"from a .54 ha parcel). While aromatically reticent there is an appealing breadth to the intensely floral and dark currant aromas that display background hints of both earth and the sauvage. There is excellent intensity and freshness to the sleek middle weight flavors that evidence soil and mineral tones on the firm, cool and beautifully well-balanced finale that delivers very fine persistence. The stems do show at present and contribute to the notably austere impression though that is virtually always the case at this stage of its development. (1/2015)"

Wine Advocate 92-94
"The 2013 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru has slightly more fruit intensity on the nose compared to the Charmes-Chambertin ’13 – a notch more ambition and presence. There is superb intensity on the nose with sorbet-like fruit at its core. The palate is succinctly balanced with (again) more substance than the Charmes-Chambertin ’13. It is harmonious and focused and then just eases off the accelerator toward the finish. (NM) (12/2014)"

Vinous Media 91-94
"Bright, dark red. Pungent, precise aromas of cranberry, pomegranate, raspberry and minerals. Dense and sappy yet weightless, with terrific inner-mouth verve to the intense flavors of red fruits, flowers and spices. Conveys a much lighter touch than the Charmes; in fact, this is downright ethereal. A firm spine of tannins and acidity gives this wine excellent cut. The rising finish leaves the salivary glands quivering. (ST) (11/2014)"

Jancis Robinson (18/20 points)
"Next to Clos des Ruchottes (Rousseau). Pebbly. Quite cool and late ripening. Discreet nose. But juicy and rather magnificent and complex on the palate. Refined. Restrained. (11/2014)"

Domaine Christophe Roumier" This is one of Burgundy's greatest domaines and Christophe Roumier is one of its most intelligent and knowledgeable winemakers. The combination of the two produces magic. "
In 1924 Georges Roumier, a man from the Charolais, married a local Chambolle-Musigny girl, Geneviève Quanquin and as was the custom at the time, she brought with her a dowry in the form of vineyards – so was born the Domaine Georges Roumier. Since that time the domaine has established itself as one of the finest estates in the world. Period. The fiercely intelligent and talented Christophe Roumier is in charge today, making wines that are simply the pinnacle of this ancient craft.
