"The 2009 is nearly as profound. Deep ruby/purple, with loads of black raspberries, kirsch, licorice, incense and a hint of truffle as well as Provencal herbs, the wine is richer, more voluptuous and fruit-forward than the 2010, with exquisite concentration, definition and length. This must be hitting 15.5% in alcohol, given the glycerin and unctuosity of the wine, but nevertheless it comes across as fresh and lively."

"This has terrific range, with blueberry, plum, red currant and black cherry fruit all mixed together against a backdrop of pastis, fruitcake and mesquite. The long, velvety finish holds everything together. A fruit-driven style, but lengthy and defined. Drink now through 2020.J.M."
International Wine Cellar 92
"A highly perfumed bouquet evokes black raspberry, garrigue and spice cake, with an intense floral quality and a touch of white pepper. Racy and precise on entry, then fleshier and more serious in the mid-palate, offering energetic red fruit and cherry flavors. The floral and spice notes come back on a long, sappy and well-defined finish."
