"Hints of crushed stone and dark, plummy fruits mark the nose of the 2015 Gigondas Promesse. Only the second vintage of the wine to be produced by the domaine, it shows admirable structure and poise, fine tannins and a lingering finish. Only the second vintage of the wine to be produced by the domaine, it shows admirable structure and poise, fine tannins and a lingering finish. The Gigondas "Promesse" is from 65-70 year old vines, situated on the opposite (the north) side of Gigondas from St. Damien, toward Sablet, and entirely on high elevation terraces. 90 Grenache, the balance being Cinsault and Mourvedre. All aged in concrete tanks. No filtration. The estate is certified as Biodynamic (Biodivin) and Organic (ECOCERT).

Domaine Les Aphillanthes from Travaillan has the special capability of jolting us into appreciation of the Cotes du Rhone region. Grower and winemaker Daniel Boulles terroir driven southern Rhne wines are exemplary models of perfect fruit and minute yields. His approach is to focus on the quality of the fruit in the vineyards together with minimal intervention in the winery. Deemed by Robert Parker as one of the finest estates in the southern Rhone, making which may be the richest Ctes du Rhne I have tasted.

"Full bodied red wine. Smooth yet perfect wine with various national dishes, whether it be Italian, Spanish or a French dinner"
