Clear and bright in appearance with green highlights, Sancerre Tradition is a classic expression of Sauvignon Blanc from the limestone rich soils of the central Loire Valley. Aromas of grapefruit and quince are complimented by notes of gun flint and wet stone. On the palate the wine is medium bodied with mouthwatering acidity and great depth of fruit. A persistent and balanced finish indicates that this wine will hold up in bottle. 2015 is a legendary vintage for the Loire Valley!
ABOUT THE WINE
Grown on caillottes (chalky white pebbles) also with clay and limestone. The average age of the vines is 25 years. Fermentation takes place with natural yeasts (no inoculation) and aged in temperature controlled stainless steel with regular stirring of the lees

ABOUT THE ESTATE
Domaine Martin, a traditional and respected domaine located in Chavignol is owned and run by Pierre Martin, son of well-known winemaker Yves Martin. The domaine consists of a scant 3 hectares of Chavignol Sauvignon Blanc (he has another 1 ha of Pinot Noir in appellation) raised using sustainable agriculture, using no herbicides. The vines are grown on the two famous terroirs of the regions: caillottes, stony, chalky pebbles and terres blanches, a mixture of clay and limestone.
The average age of his vines are 20-25 years old, with the oldest vines being 35 years old. All vinification is done in temperature controlled stainless steel tank, with 4-6 month aging on fine lees with minimal batonnage. Production of the Chavignol cuvee is between 800 and 1200 cases per year, depending on the vintage.

Marvelous white with Character - Brilliant white with enough depth of flavor to stand as well with more heavily spiced food as it does with Raw oysters , steamed Lobster and most any seafood. Cool Crisp and Delicious .
