This is an impressive Vacqueyras to say the least.." ~JD

International Wine Cellar 92+
"Opaque ruby. Cherry, dark berries and licorice on the nose, with mineral and Indian spice nuance gaining power with air. Deeply concentrated yet impressively lively on the palate, offering incisive blackberry and bitter cherry flavors with a hint of lavender pastille. Dusty tannins give shape and grip to the very long spicy/floral finish. This Vacqueyras is built for aging. "~JR

"Montirius has been a family estate for 5 generations. The slow conversion process from traditional to bio-dynamic vineyard management and wine making of the 133 acres owned by the family was started by Eric’s father Max in 1980. The estate was fully converted in 1996 and in 1999 Montirius became the first winery in the Vacqueyras & Gigondas appellations to be certified Bio-Dynamic. The estate is certified organic by Ecocert and Bio-Dynamic by Biodyvin."

Pleasing well made Vacqueyras
"Parker rated this wine at 88+ and I seldom disagree with his ratings but I like this wine very well. It is a deep purple color with a pleasing nose of forest floor, cedar box, smoke, and herbs. There is a pleasing mouth feel with soft tannins well integrated into predominately black fruit with a 20 second or so finish. It would be hard for me to distinguish this very well made wine from a very decent Cotes du Rhone and it certainly represents fair value for the money"
