The Rosa Dolce & Gabbana is a blend of Nerello Mascalese and Nocera. -Eric Guido, April 2022.

Tasting notes
A new ros wine, the perfect ambassador for two Made in Italy icons. Dolce&Gabbana and Donnafugata strengthen their partnership with the launch of Rosa. Bright pale pink in color, with an elegant bouquet of jasmine, delicate fruity notes of wild strawberry, peach and bergamot. It has a very pleasant fragrance, minerality and persistence. Perfect for aperitifs, raw fish, vegetarian dishes and delicate meats.

Description
Dolce&Gabbana, fascinated by this unmistakable color, strongly desired the production of a ros, and the name Rosa was chosen to emphasize its unique personality. And just as Donnafugata has created a new blend of two Sicilian grape varieties, so Dolce&Gabbanas creativity has taken up the challenge of telling the story of this prestigious wine, overseeing its coordinated image: the immediately recognizable graphics of the materials draw inspiration from the iconic Sicilian cart, which represents the islands craftsmanship, culture and tradition the world over.

Vinification
Made from a blend of Nerello Mascalese & Nocera. The vineyards are located in Eastern Sicily, on the north side of the Etna Contessa Entellina Estate. Manually harvested into crates with selection of only the best bunches per plant. Cold maceration in press for 6-12 hours at 10 (50F) followed by fermentation in stainless steel, at a controlled temperature. Aged in tanks for two months and another three months in bottle before release.
About Donnafugata
In the Italian language, Donnafugata means "fleeing woman". The story goes that in the late 19th century the Queen Maria Carolina after her flight from the court of Naples took refuge in the heart of Belice Valley in Sicily. This event inspired the image of the head of a woman, her hair tossed about by the wind and the Estate name.

Donnafugata grew out of the commitment of a family in Sicily that has always believed in the extraordinary enological potential of its land and has 150 years of experience in producing premium wines. Convinced that it is always necessary to be open to change in order to grow and improve, Giacomo Rallo and his wife, Gabriella, launched a new production project in 1983: Donnafugata. Their adventure took wing from the family's historic cellars in Marsala and the vineyards at Contessa Entellina in the heart of western Sicily and soared as far as the island of Pantelleria.
